Florida Hospital Apopka to turn to senior living community

from the Orlando Sentinel

Florida Hospital Apopka on North Park Avenue will turn into a senior living community, once the hospital moves to its new location on Harmon and Ocoee-Apopka roads in 2017.

The community will offer housing options, including townhomes, independent and assisted living units, memory care units, primary care services and skilled nursing.

“With our mission of providing holistic care for a person’s lifetime, it makes sense for Florida Hospital to develop a vibrant, robust community that will provide comfort, safety, activity and leading-edge medical care for our region’s seniors,” said Jennifer Wandersleben, vice president and administrator of Florida Hospital Apopka, in a news release.

The facility can house 400 residents.

The new Florida Hospital Apopka broke ground in March. It will have 120 private rooms and will cost more than $200 million.
