Apopka spends more on lobbyists than every Central Florida city but Orlando.

Orange County’s second-largest city likely will remain near the top, even though Mayor Joe Kilsheimer and others can’t say what, if any, benefits the city has gained from its lobbyists.

Apopka spent $132,000 for two firms to lobby state and federal politicians last year. And just recently, city commissioners voted to pay the same amount to their former chief administrative officer to take on those duties.
