Coming this May: Cancer Care-a-Thon Fundraiser

We are really excited to be able to announce our next local fundraising campaign… Introducing “THE DEBBIE TURNER CANCER RESOURCE CENTER CARE-A-THON” which will launch the first week of May!

The Debbie Turner Cancer Care and Resource Center, headquartered in Apopka, serves individuals and families with resources to keep going with treatment, special needs and products, and so much more!

Like the 9-year-old needing a wig. Debbie got a custom wig donated. Now that this precious smart little girl can go back to school and not be bullied.

Like the women, with brain cancer, given days to live. Debbie referred her doctor at Duke University. That doctor is now treating that woman, who has been given a new lease on life!  And he’s providing housing and transportation for two while they are there.

God’s hand leads Debbie and brings those in need to her. She provides transportation if a client can’t get to their treatment. Debbie provides after school computer resources for kids with parents with cancer so they can study!  This is just the tip of the iceberg of her tireless efforts. Debbie is a cancer survivor herself. With the guidance of God, Debbie makes things happen for everyone that asks, and even those that don’t.

So now it’s our turn to “make things happen”!  We will embark on a fundraising effort to make sure there are funds available to provide these resources… and we need your help. Beginning in May, you will hear stories on-air through the day. You will see posts on our Facebook and Twitter accounts full of stories and photos. We will bring you long form, commercial free programming letting you hear from Debbie and how your dollars will go to use. You will find updates and info on our free mobile apps. And above all, you will see the many ways you can give a gift. We will also encourage you to tell your story of how cancer has touched your life!
