Attorneys, law firms line up to represent Apopka

Five Central Florida law firms and two lawyers beat Friday’s deadline to apply for legal adviser of Apopka, a position that opened last month when the mayor’s choice resigned amid questions over a brothel’s client list.

Thomas Cloud was chosen by Mayor Joe Kilsheimer last month after longtime city attorney Frank Kruppenbacher was forced out.

But Cloud resigned before his first day on the job because of the brothel brouhaha, which he called “malicious gossip…presented as fact.”
