Knetik Media expanding in Altamonte Springs, now hiring engineers

Knetik Media raised $1 million in financing, the company announced Aug. 11. Knetik, which offers the Knetik Platform to monetize and distribute content in the video, broadcast, magazine and game publishing industry, raised $800,000 in capital and $200,000 in debt conversion in a deal that formally closed June 30.

As a result, Knetik is currently expanding its office in Altamonte Springs to 5,000 square feet of space, and looks to add 15 to 20 jobs in the next eight to 12 months. Shane Robinett, CEO of Knetik, said in an interview with Orlando Business Journal that the jobs would primarily be software developers and engineers, with corresponding support positions, like designers. “We’re already profitable, so this is more about growing than burning through cash,” Robinett said. “We’re looking for local partners to work with.”

The funding round was spearheaded by David M. Greene, an established finance executive and member of the company’s board of directors, the press release said. Greene also is the principal and founder of DMG Worldwide Consulting whose firm manages the accounting and financing ecosystems for Knetik Media.
